This flight case is purpose built for transporting a bass drum cannon, a large diameter, extended depth percussion instrument designed for maximum sonic projection and powerful low frequency output. Bass drum cannons are commonly used in marching bands, drum corps, and concert environments where volume, clarity, and strong stage presence are essential. These instruments are typically constructed with high-tension shells and heavy-duty hardware, making them particularly sensitive to impact and handling during transport.

Due to their size and weight, bass drum cannons are not practical to lift vertically. This case is designed to support safe ramp loading, allowing the instrument to be rolled or guided into position rather than lifted. The internal layout is designed to hold a single bass drum cannon securely while helping maintain instrument stability during movement.

The case is constructed using Weather and Boil Proof birch veneer laminated plywood, selected for its strength and resistance to moisture and environmental changes. All structural panels are precision cut using CNC machinery to ensure consistent fit and alignment across each build. Assembly is carried out by trained technicians using Armor selected hardware, with careful attention given to load-bearing areas, ramp alignment, and overall structural durability. A standard quality control process is followed throughout production to ensure reliable performance under demanding touring and storage conditions.

Functional Features Focused on Ramp Loading and Control

The defining feature of this flight case is its integrated ramp loading system. The ramp allows the bass drum cannon to be guided smoothly into position, reducing physical strain and improving handling control during loading and unloading.

Foam padding is positioned internally to support and protect the drum, helping minimise movement and absorb vibration during transport. The case is fitted with heavy-duty Armor hardware and multiple caster wheels to support movement across rehearsal spaces, loading docks, and performance venues.
